How to use
- Pick the mode: letters to numbers, or numbers to letters.
- Paste or type the text in the input.
- Copy the converted result.
Frequently asked questions
- How are the numbers separated in the output?
- By hyphens or spaces, depending on the mode. Without a separator, "12" could mean either "AB" or "L". The separator removes the ambiguity.
- Does it work with accented letters?
- No. The cipher covers only the 26 letters of the English alphabet. Accented letters (á, é, ç) are ignored in the conversion. If you need to keep them, strip the accents first.
- What kinds of puzzles typically use this cipher?
- Escape rooms, geocaching, treasure hunts, puzzle books, and even some video game riddles. Being easy to decipher, it's a common starter puzzle.
