About this tool
Upload an image and extract the text in it through optical character recognition (OCR). Useful for digitising text from a photo of a document, capturing a quote from a physical book, transcribing receipts or invoices, copying text from a screenshot, or recovering content from images where you couldn't select text.
How to use
- Upload the image with the text.
- Wait for processing (may take a few seconds depending on size).
- See the extracted text.
- Copy it to use wherever you need.
Frequently asked questions
- Which languages are recognised?
- The most common Latin languages work well (Portuguese, English, Spanish, French, Italian, German). Languages with non-Latin alphabets (Cyrillic, Arabic, Chinese) may have lower precision or not be supported. For texts in rarer languages, consider specific OCR services.
- How can I improve accuracy?
- Image with good lighting, no shadows or reflections, text upright (not tilted), high contrast between text and background, and sufficient resolution (each letter at least 30 pixels tall). Handwritten text is always harder than printed text and may have frequent errors.
- Does it work with PDFs?
- Not directly. This tool processes images. For PDFs with selectable text, just copy directly without needing OCR. For scanned PDFs (text as image), take a screenshot of the page or export to image before uploading here.
