About this tool

Upload an image and click any point to extract the exact color at that pixel. Shows the value in several formats (HEX, RGB, HSL). Useful for discovering the color of something you saw in a photo, replicating palettes from screenshots, identifying a logo's color from an image, or simply knowing what color that specific shade is.

How to use

  1. Upload or drag an image to the indicated area.
  2. Click any point on the image to select that pixel's color.
  3. Read the value in HEX, RGB, and HSL.
  4. Copy the format you prefer.

Frequently asked questions

Is the extracted color exact?
It's the exact color of the pixel you clicked. If the image was compressed (JPEG), pixels can have slightly different colors than the original due to compression. For precise colors, use lossless PNG or TIFF images. In normal photos, the approximation is enough for most cases.
Can I select an area and get an average?
This tool selects point by point, without area averaging. If you need the average color of a region, use the color palette extractor, which automatically extracts several dominant colors.
Does it work with very large images?
Yes, but performance may drop with huge images (more than 20 megapixels). To pick a color you only need one pixel, so you can resize the image first if it's very large. Color precision isn't affected by resizing as long as the pixel you click stays true to the original.
