About this tool

Every photo carries hidden information that the camera or phone wrote at the moment of capture. This viewer reads the EXIF block stored in a JPEG, TIFF, WebP or PNG file and shows it clearly: camera make and model, lens, shutter speed, aperture, ISO, the exact date and time, and GPS coordinates when present. Useful to understand how a photo was taken or to check what a file reveals before you share it.

How to use

  1. Open a photo or drag it onto the upload area. JPEG files from cameras and phones carry the most metadata.
  2. Read the file details and, when present, the camera and exposure settings used for the shot.
  3. If the photo has GPS data, see the coordinates and open them on a map. Copy the full report with one click.

Frequently asked questions

What are EXIF metadata?
EXIF (Exchangeable Image File Format) is a block of information that cameras and phones write into a photo when it is saved. It records the device, the exposure settings, the date and time, and sometimes the GPS location where the photo was taken.
Why does my photo show no metadata?
Screenshots, images exported from editors, and photos downloaded from social networks usually have their EXIF removed. Many platforms strip it on upload for privacy and to reduce file size. Only the original file straight from the camera keeps the full set.
Can a photo reveal where it was taken?
Yes. If GPS was enabled at the moment of capture, the EXIF block stores precise coordinates. It is worth checking this before sharing a file publicly, since anyone can read that location the same way this tool does.
Does the tool change my photo?
No. The file is only read to display its metadata. Nothing is uploaded and the original photo is never modified.
